Dear Crescent Heights High School community,

I am thrilled to be joining the CHHS team in the fall of 2017 as the new grade 7/8 Vice-principal. Crescent Heights High School has a reputation of ensuring academic success and providing exceptional life opportunities for students. I look forward to maintaining and growing that standard. I can’t think of a more ideal role and community to be part of and I look forward to contributing to the school in any way that I can.

I grew up in the Medicine Hat area and the city has remained home for the majority of my life. My educational career as both a student and teacher has allowed me to gain multiple perspectives. I have lived and learned in Alberta, B.C, Quebec and France and taught and led in Canada’s Arctic, rural Alberta and most recently Australia. Many of you may already know me as a community or school based coach, the father of one of your child’s friends or the grade one Riverside School teacher’s husband. My wife and I have committed a great deal of our time to enriching students’ lives in every community we have been part of and I look forward to continuing to do so for the students of CHHS.

I bring fifteen years of experience as a teacher and school leader to the fold and believe my insight from my tenure in Prairie Rose School Division will prove valuable to Crescent Heights High School. I have spent the majority of my time as a teacher in the grade 7-12 realm. As a school leader, I am always focused on working to enhance achievement and provide personal growth opportunities for students and staff inside and outside of the classroom.

Change is difficult and change is personal, but change is also necessary for growth. I am excited to be part of a transitional leadership team at CHHS for the 2017-18 school year and look forward to the challenges and rewards that will accompany the position this coming year and beyond.

I pride myself on being available, approachable and accommodating, so please feel free to contact me or stop me for a quick chat when you see me. I am excited and enthusiastic about beginning this next journey. I’ve started to stock my closet with Vikings blue…
