
OFF CAMPUS EDUCATION
Are you a high school student currently working? Why not sign up for one of our Off-Campus
Education Programs. Below are 3 programs
available to register for.
Work Experience
Work Experience is a program designed to create an opportunity for
students to earn high school credits and experience the World of Work first-hand. Students may be in a paid or volunteer
position. Students can earn up to 30
high school credits, 15 of these can be used for graduation requirements. Students must complete HCS 3000 (Workplace
Safety Systems) before starting Work Experience. See Mr. Canadine in the Off-Campus Office

Registered Apprenticeship Program
(RAP)
This program provides senior high school students the opportunity to
earn credits in high school and gain on-the-job training and hours that can
be applied towards an apprenticeship.
Students can earn up to 40 credits.
All students must complete HCS 3000 (Workplace Safety Systems) before
starting RAP. Students apply these
hours towards the first year of their apprenticeship. Students are registered with Alberta
Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) and receive their Blue Book. See Mr. Canadine in the Off-Campus Office

Green Certificate Program
This program is a joint endeavor between Alberta Education and
Alberta Agriculture and Forestry.
Participants learn by actively performing skills required under the
direction of experienced farm personnel and provides students with
credentials that could lead to a career in agribusiness. Students must complete AGR 3000
(Agricultural Safety) prior to registering.
Students can earn up to 16 credits.

Why Should Students Enroll in
Off-Campus Education?
-Students earn high school credits that can help them meet graduation
requirements and earn the “Blue Cord” at the graduation ceremony.
-Grades earned in Off-Campus Education can be used as part
of an average for early admission when applying to competitive programs in
post-secondary schools.
-Grades in Off-Campus education can be used as part of the
calculation for the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship.
-Students learn life-long skills outside the regular
classroom setting.
-Students start to build an improved resume/portfolio that
will benefit them when seeking future employment.
-Improved safety in the workplace. Students are supervised on a regular basis
and work sites must be approved.

Off-Campus Education
