The transition program supports students as they move from elementary to middle school. A smaller class size allows the two core teachers to closely monitor and support student learning. The transition teachers reinforce key concepts and present the regular grade seven curriculum at a slight slower pace. The transition program builds resiliency in students and strengthens the student’s problem solving skills so that students are able to transition back to the regular program when they are ready. The transition program is a voluntary program; students are recommended for the program by their grade six elementary teachers and/or parents can request that their child be considered for the program.
